A nationally recognized leader in Medicare, Medicaid, dual eligible and special needs plan (SNP) programs and policies, Julie Faulhaber is an experienced and strategic mission-driven leader with more than 30 years of healthcare policy and consulting experience.
Julie has demonstrated expertise in business and product development, product implementation and management, sales and marketing, operations, change management, government relations and compliance. Her work has included leadership and oversight of multi-state SNP and Medicaid business, Medicare demonstrations, care coordination, government relations and overseeing the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) bidding process for SNP and dual eligible products.
At ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨ (ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨), Julie is in leadership within the Finance and Operations service line Managed Care team. Her client work includes supporting the strategic assessment of starting or expanding Medicare Advantage (MA) or SNP plans, assessing the implications of transition plans for Medicare Medicaid Plans (MMPs), leading capture planning and strategy for Medicaid and dual special needs plan (D-SNP) managed care procurements, and developing a Medicare Advantage plan’s sales and marketing strategy. She also helps plans understand the impact of new integration requirements on their existing SNPs, completes gap analyses for plans preparing to file for SNPs, prepares health plans for CMS and state audits and leads implementations for organizations executing on SNPs.
Before joining ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨, Julie served as vice president of Enterprise Medicaid at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) and as vice president and general manager of State Public Programs at Medica Health Plans in Minnesota. In these roles, Julie had P&L responsibility and managed the Medicaid and SNP products the organization offered.Â
While serving at Medica Health Plan, she received an innovation award from the state Medicaid agency for developing and implementing a program to integrate physical and behavioral healthcare. Julie also led its Medicare Cost Plan business, successful CMS audits, increased enrollment, exceeded budget and program goals and engaged stakeholders to retool programs to include those with disabilities.
Julie earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Creighton University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
Julie believes the book with the best stories is her passport and enjoys traveling locally and internationally. She is an avid Wisconsin and Chicago sports fan and enjoys live music, reading, visual arts, dance, theater and architecture.
